MORECAMBE 2007
The weather at Morecambe 2006 was spot on , so maybe that's why we decided to camp this year .....perhaps if we had checked the weather forecast then we could have been prepared ! When Diane booked the site for two nights the guy on the phone assured her we didn't need any reservations - sure enough the camp site was completely empty when we arrived at 7pm on Friday evening . Life's about experience and so we turned down the offers of free bed and board and braved the force 10 gale and driving rain .
The Ranch House was already rammed by the time we got there , Tats & Dawn were already proping up the bar , by eight the rest of the club were starting to assemble . Ray from Peterborough was in usual fine form and was gathering photo's for the next SHED Magazine review . Being an ex Trojan , Ray had spent ( or mis-spent ) his youth in Morecambe town and claimed it was the Trojan SC that turned him into the man that he is today , not sure you robbing the milkman was any of our doing ray ! By the way check out SHED magazine at www.shedmag.com
Ray has just sold his GTS and has ordered an MP3 , a fact that baffled our Dave , how could anyone trade their scooter for a digital music player ?? It took about 10 minutes for the penny to drop !
The evening progressed and we finally arrived at the Carleton , meeting up with the other club members . The usual rowdyness ensued .
Chucking out time came and off we set for the tent , Balmer and the boys heading off back to Thrap city , upon returning Balmer was thirsty and with no shops open what was a man to do ? The solution was clear as Martin proceeded to lick the dew from a nearby car to satisfy his thirst .....he's been watching to much Ray Mear's me thinks .
By midday Saturday we were back in the Ranch House for the hair of the dog , the numbers accumulated during the course of the day . Dan's bike won Best Chopper in the custom show but considering it was the only chopper then maybe the result was a foregone conclusion but that doesnt mean that it aint a tidy bike - as you can see from the pictures on the Scooter Restoration pages .
It was off to town for a tour of the old haunts with visit's to the Bath Hotel , Victoria , Kings Arms with Lisa B providing most of the days entertainment .
The Station was a quick stop gap on the way back to the Carleton for the evening do but by this time the alcohol was starting to take effect . I dont know if any of you have wondered what horseradish and mustard would feel like rubbed into your genitalia but this was the time to find out ! Martin and Jamie became the test monkeys for some serious condoment abuse . The sauces gave the guys a comforting warming effect to their ball sacks whilst the snorting of black pepper seemed to be carried out in an alll too profesional manner ! You can see the footage at SAUCY BALLS
NCC meets VFM
Shortly after this photo Mr Balmer finally slipped into a deep sleep ( in the middle of the Carleton ) , standing up , fell traight forward landing head first . A slight chaffing occurred with a rather large bump underneath but at least he was now awake again . It was good to see some old Trojan faces again with appearances by Flick ( now NCC ) Daz S and Pete R back on 2 wheels .
