Okay -so this is the start of the restoration - the last time the scoot was sprayed was in 1991 - it had been bought as a box of bits for £700 from Stockport . The frame is Italian was manufactured in 1969  - it wasnt actually registered until 1978 and so must have spent some time in a shop window ! One of  Kev's mates applied a coat of white paint and I did the restoration .

It was a completely std bike ( 200 cc ) at this time but about 3 months later converted to a Honda 205 with Mikeck exhaust . The scoot here is waiting for the engine mods to be completed .

It was ridden like this until the big end went and trashed the barrel one night coming back from work  . It was converted to a TS1 200 cc in about 2000 by ESP in Wigan . The old Mikeck exhaust needed new brackets but finally snapped on the way to Ayr later that year .

The scoot has allways been kept outside and hence suffered the sun and rain - 2005 was the time to finally give it some TLC .Here he is stripped ready for the bodywork repairs and re-spray .

KB Paintshop did the work according to drawings I made - legshields have had to go back for some rectification work but other than that the work looks good . These photos are at Ken's spray booth - just agreeing where to put the finishing touches .

So now the hard bit starts !The engine build is underway but getting parts is becoming a pain in the ass . Waiting for 2 weeks now for parts from Stainless Scooter Products  - no answer on the phone or by mail - hey ho . Chroming is going to be the next big hurdle ! Frame with air scoop hole filled and waiting for the build up - the rear brake pedal is a start !

Day one of the engine re-build , new casings have been chosen ( the old ones had to many stripped threads / bump stop removed etc) ,fitted rear bearing & seal , stainless gear adjuster , silent blocks , stainless chaincase studs and rear brake pad pivots and alot of polishing !

The workhop ! Best get the front room tidied up befoe the misses gets home , that engine oil doesn't half stain the wood !

Stainless runners - what a joy to fit !

Nearly finished !
